Host your next party at Hyssop Beauty Apothecary! Our private events are perfect for birthdays, bachelorette parties, or just a fun night out! You and your guests will have the opportunity to learn, create, and shop!

COST $45 PER PERSON (SUNDAYS $55 PER PERSON)

Minimum 6 guests.

Maximum 24 guests. (Please call 973-637-0325 for larger parties.)

INCLUDES:

  • One of our amazing apothecarists will guide you to create a skin care product of your own to take home with you!
  • $10 per guest store credit to use during your private event
  • $20 host store credit to use during your private event
  • Parties last 2 hours. (Weeknights - 6:30pm to 8:30pm | Sundays 12:30pm - 2:30pm or 3:30pm to 5:30pm)

HOW TO BOOK:

To see if a date is available, select from our dropdown list. If the "ADD TO CART" button allows you to check out, your date is available! If the "SOLD OUT" button appears, then the date is sold out / unavailable. 

A refundable deposit for the minimum of 6 guests is required to reserve your event. The balance for additional guests will be due on the day of your event.

PAYMENT

Parties must be booked and paid for in advance for a minimum of 6 guests. The balance for additional guests will be due on the day of your private event. By booking this event you are accepting responsibility for unpaid guests.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Bookings for private events are fully refundable with 3 weeks' notice. Should a private event require cancellation due to a state of emergency, lockdown, or other government mandates, we will offer you a rescheduled date at no extra cost to you.

  • Cancellations with 2 weeks' notice will be refunded the deposit less $100.00.
  • Cancellations with 1 week's notice will be refunded the deposit less $150.00.
  • Cancellations with 72 hours' notice will be refunded the deposit less $175.00.
  • Cancellations with less than 72 hours' notice will not be refunded.
EXTEND TIME OF PARTY

You may extend your party for an additional half-hour for $60. 

SHOPPING CREDIT

After you create your skin care product, you and your guests will enjoy a private shopping experience. Each guest receives a $10 credit towards their purchase, and the host receives a $20 shopping credit.

CONFIRMATION

Upon booking, a staff member will contact you to confirm your date, and which skin care product you and your guests will make during your private event. Many of our ingredients are fresh and are not stored long-term in our facility. For that reason, we require that you provide your skincare selection 2 weeks prior to your event to allow us time to plan accordingly.

ARRIVAL TIME

We urge you to arrive on time so that you can enjoy the full 2 hours reserved for your private event. Parties that extend more than 15 past end-time will be charged $60/half hour.

CHILDREN

To ensure a fun and safe event for all, we require the following guidelines for guests younger than 18 years old:

  • Minimum age for private events: 14 years old
  • Ages 14-17 - minimum of 2 adults for 5 minors (maximum 10 minors)
SIPS + NIBBLES

Yes! You may bring in your own beverages and snacks to enjoy during your event. We recommend finger foods. Upon request in advance, we provide glassware, napkins, and small appetizer plates at an additional charge of $3pp.

Soj Foods: plant-based event chef. Sweet or savory platters of finger foods available.

Sophie's Garden: garden-inspired charcuterie board service

The Sweet Life Cafe NJ: Artisan made Sweets & Treats

Petracco and Sons: family-owned deli in Nutley offering tea-sized sandwiches

Cubita Cafe: traditional Cuban cuisine with platters of small bites available

Pita Bowl: Greek Grill offering platters of small bites for our private events

The Oakley Kitchen: Gastropub down the block from Hyssop Beauty Apothecary

LIABILITY

Hyssop Beauty Apothecary will not be held liable for injuries or property damage. The private event host holds financial responsibility for any property damage or theft losses.

NON-COMPLIANCE REFUND POLICY

In the event that a booking is cancelled or terminated early due to a failure to meet age requirements, lack of required supervision, or disruptive conduct, no refunds or credits will be issued. The client remains responsible for the full cost of the event and materials prepared.

CLEANING & DISPOSAL

To maintain the boutique environment of our Apothecary, we ask that hosts take responsibility for the cleanup of any outside food and drink brought into the studio. All food waste, containers, and disposable items must be bagged and placed in the designated receptacles before the end of your scheduled time. A cleaning fee may be applied to the final balance if the space requires professional cleaning or excessive waste removal following your event.

AGREEMENT TO TERMS OF SERVICE

By completing checkout and remitting payment through our website to reserve your private event, you agree to the above terms and our website terms of service.

Amazing experience!

I was looking for something with a make your own scent party. We live in Monmouth county. Nothing near us. We drove to Nutlet specifically for this. It was amazing. Totally worth it. It was for my daughter’s 14th birthday. It was her plus 4 friends and another mom. They all made their personal scents. Staff was amazing. Pizza place across the street. Ordered 2 pies and 2 garlic knots and waters. Ate at Hyssop because we had some extra time since the girls finished early. Every girl got a $10 gift card for the store and was able to get a little treat including the perfume. Great experience. Highly recommend for older girls.

Decadent, delicious and delightful!

I have been a loyal customer of Hyssop for over 3 years. Every product is delightful and we are local so we are able to return our bottles to the store, making it the most sustainable AND luxurious option around.

I finally had the opportunity to host a party at Hyssop for my birthday, with a few close friends. Every scent is natural, which is key for someone like me who gets sick around synthetic fragrances, and also for optimal health and the environment (don't get me started lol).

This experience felt SO decadent, designing and making our own perfumes with Mary's expert help along the way. Some of us DID need help crafting our creations into beautiful, wearable scents that felt like us, and we were not disappointed. It's an amazing custom experience that I couldn't imagine having elsewhere.

Perfect event with the gal pals!

The private event to make our own perfume was awesome! Mary could not have been more accomodating to the group and was just wonderful! She helped the six of us individually with all our creations and gave extra help when needed! She went through the whole process in great detail and made this experience a very pleasant one! Plus her products are awesome! Definitely would go again and look forward to making another visit!

Amazing ladies night out!

Visited the shop for DIY perfume event for a friends birthday and we had a blast! We learned so much and the hospitality was excellent. Looking forward to booking our next event!
